The success of the Genesis Covenant’s also lies in face to face dialogue. What better chance to begin this dialogue by uniting scientists, religious leaders, and everyone who cares about our planet than at the conference: Healing Our Planet Earth: Singing a New Song of Hope. The conference will take place on Saturday, April 12, 2008.
The national conference will focus on the web of relationships between faith, justice and ecology. It will be a place and time where people of all faiths traditions and environmental communities come together to learn, share, inspire and seed plans for sustainable action, and a global sustainable future.
Please note - the location of the conference has changed. Our Conference host will be St. Margaret's Episcopal Church
in Bellevue, WA. The conference was moved from the
Seattle Airport Hilton Hotel while the hotel and its

The Purpose of the Conference
Guided in our work by the vision and principles of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals and Earth Charter, Healing Our Planet Earth: Singing a New Song of Hope recognizes the impacts of global climate change on all living things, especially on the poor. Heeding the prophetic call to take action, Healing Our Planet Earth: Singing a New Song of Hope inspires swift and decisive action to protect God’s Creation, and engenders hope, both within and beyond the boundaries of the Episcopal Church.
Healing Our Planet Earth (HOPE) conference planning team has chosen to consolidate this exciting and important event into one full day of information, inspiration and collaborative action.
The conference begin at 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 11 with a public address given by Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori at the Olympic Sculpture Park on Seattle's historic waterfront. There is limited seating for 75 people for Friday's event, first come first served, doors open at 4:30
p.m. The conference will then continue the next day, Saturday April 12th, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the SeaTac Hilton.
Presenters who will include Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, Bishop Steven Charleston, Bishop Greg Rickel, Diocese of Olympia, Dr. Sallie McFague, author, educator, activist.
There will be opportunities for meeting and conversation, and for creating partnerships with others who share your goals.
Healing Our Planet Earth: Singing A New Song of Hope is being organized and hosted by the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia, (Seattle, WA) and the Episcopal Divinity School (Cambridge, MA).

The conference is designed to assist members of faith communities seeking ways to significantly impact the effects of climate change - faithful citizens, church members and volunteers; clergy and members of church governing bodies; students and teachers of environmental sciences, and theology. The conference is being especially designed not only to connect people during the conference time, it also is designed to create networks of support that will exist long after you have returned home. Whether you are an expert, or someone wondering what you can do about all “this climate mess,” whether you have a success story to share or need to find solutions for yourself or your church, Healing Our Planet Earth: Singing A New Song of Hope will help you to identify people, tools, processes and “already happening” successful solutions to help you implement a plan of your own.
